I Remember Mom

I remember mom who…

rolled a hanky into twins in a cradle

sang so beautifully in church

bought us a new dress and patented leather shoes every Easter and Christmas

laughed with the neighbors

talked with me about friendship and helped me wipe my tears

let me lick the beaters after the frosting was made

taught me to kneel and say my bedtime prayers

organized a block party for the neighborhood

arranged a Christmas decorating contest for all the neighborhood front doors

took me to the store where we would laugh at the funny cards together

made all the meals where the family would gather together

made sure I heard scripture and prayers after dinner

loved me despite what I did or said to her

came to our house to help after I had my son

visited me in the hospital when I had surgery

Thanks, mom for all you’ve done and just know I’ll always love you and I remember YOU!
